Bestselling Author T.J. English To Host New York Latin Jazz Series

NEW YORK - April 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Bestselling author and Latin music lover T.J. English is hosting and curating In Touch Entertainment's Dangerous Rhythms series held in a legendary New York venue, Zinc.

The next program of the series, which focuses on Latin jazz, will take place on April 19 and feature Gerardo Contino Y Los Habaneros, named in 2015 by NPR/WNYC stations as the Best Band in Manhattan.

English's latest book, The Corporation: An Epic Story of the Cuban American Underworld, is climbing bestseller lists around the country and is featured this month in JazzTimes Magazine. In it, he discusses his long-time love affair with Latin jazz and how it informs his life and work. He is also the author of Havana Nocturne and The Westies.

"We are very happy to have a world-class personality like T.J. curate our series," said In Touch's CEO, Charles Carlini. "We are sure the audiences will appreciate his insights into Latin jazz and the artists we feature."

Dangerous Rhythms program will continue on May 10 with an homage to the late Cuban musician, composer and bandleader Arsenio Rodriguez performed by the Mike Eckroth Group.

On May 31, Yunior Terry Sexteto ft. Yosvany Terry will perform, followed on June 14 by vocalist Xiomara Laugart, and the Curtis Brothers Quartet on the 28^th.

Along with Dangerous Rhythms, In Touch Entertainment recently added three other new programs, Vocal Mania, Percussion Masters and Boss Tenors, to its line-up.

Its guitar-centric Strings Attached jazz series, featuring four of New York City's premier six-string jazz masters on a single stage – Jack Wilkins, Vic Juris, Joe Cohn, and Mark Whitfield — has been a regular feature at the Zinc since 2017. Piano Jazz and Trumpet Masters programs were also added to the Zinc's line-up last year.
