Follow on Google News | First Inpatient Drug Rehab Center in Williston May Open SoonA nonprofit organization is planning to open the first inpatient drug rehab center in Williston, North Dakota after several months of discussion.
Last December, a summit was held that included Williston officials, community members and healthcare providers as they conversed about the opioid crisis. They addressed the need for an inpatient drug rehab center in McKenzie County and illustrated their frustrations with Williston's lack of resources. An inpatient drug rehab center does not currently exist in Williston but that may change soon. Summit Counseling — a nonprofit organization that focuses on therapy for both drug abuse and mental health, led the charge to bring awareness to the fact that a treatment center was needed. Their goal is to provide mental health and substance abuse services across the county and ensure a healthier way of life. The leaders of another public meeting in Williston were the Owens, George and Brenda. They are the founders of Summit and were there to give the plan. They currently run an outpatient treatment center in Williston but would like to open an inpatient treatment center. The Owens alleged that the biggest difficulty in making sure this treatment center was the right location was securing the funds for it. Several locations were looked at before deciding on this site. Sergeant Detective Danielle Hendricks of the Williston Police Department spoke about the epidemic and Williston's plans for combating it. "We've identified that there's a problem within the community," she said. "I know I have been fortunate enough to be present at the opioid town hall and a couple of meetings behind the scenes." Hendricks stated that there is a real interest within the community in ensuring safety of its citizens and a wish for a drug rehab center to be built. "We got this facility that is going to be established soon," she added. "We've got people that are willing to come to the area and offer their services." She stated that officials in law enforcement may take a different role but they have the same common goals. "It's really actually kind of unique right now because everybody is coming together to establish the same ultimate end goal, which is to be able to counter the addiction crisis that we have." https://www.drugaddictionnow.com/ End
