Binghamton Drug Detox Center Brings Lifesaving Services to Central NY Residents

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - April 27, 2018 - PRLog -- A new drug detox center opened in Binghamton, Broome County earlier this month.

The grand opening ceremony of drug detox center — called SBH Binghamton Evaluation Center —  was held on April 5.

During the event, representatives of the center announced that patients the following day.

The new, 50-bed drug detox center will offer the patients medical supervision as they go through the withdrawal phase of recovery for a short period of time.

When the patients complete the drug detox program they will be referred to a residential drug rehab facility to be in a longer program.

The drug detox center — which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week — was established due to the fact that New York State officials have been approving funds to fight the opioid epidemic; $1.5 million in annual funding is being allocated to the operation of the new treatment center in Broome County by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.

According to local officials, the drug detox center will be running without any contributions from the local taxpayers. They also stated that the facility is the first to offer drug detox services to the people of Broome County.

The representatives stated that there are plans to expand the recovery programs offered by the drug detox facility in the future.
