Heywood Hospital's Wound Care Center Recognized with President's Circle Award

GARDNER, Mass. - May 24, 2018 - PRLog -- The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Heywood Hospital was presented with the President's Circle award in recognition of a Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence with outstanding performance.

The Heywood Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92% and a healing rate of at least 91% in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of 340 eligible Centers, 26 were honored with this award nationwide, and Heywood Hospital is only one of three in Massachusetts. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

"At any given time, almost seven million Americans suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds. Our Center uses the most up-to-date approaches to wound healing and remains current in new scientific advances in wound care. The award with celebrated at a reception on Thursday, May 24th. Hospital staff, physicians, advanced practice providers and community partners enjoyed refreshments, tours and remarks from Hospital Administration.

The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Heywood Hospital is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers®, with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds. It offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments included negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
