Historic Holt Auction Event Center holds final auction after 42 years

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - June 21, 2018 - PRLog -- As the gavel drops on a historic 42 years Holt & Associates will be holding their final onsite auction on June 23rd at their auction event center located at 704 Arrawanna in Colorado Springs.

Owners Ray & Gerry Holt founded the company in 1976 when they saw a need to assist orphans and people who needed assistance with assets. At the time Ray was an engineer for a prominent firm in Colorado Springs and can tout involvement with such infamous projects as Norad and the Air Force Academy among numerous others in the area. Gerry had 3 young boys at home when Ray decided he wanted to do something different, something that could really make a difference in other people's lives. Through the years they have had some interesting experiences selling auctions such as the wood carver's museum, a stuffed horse and wax figures in a wax museum, large consignment and heavy equipment auction in Falcon in the driving snow and many auctions for UCCS, banks and attorneys, the famous Giddings, Farrar and Higby Ranches, the Monument Gun Shop, the Shooting Den, Plaza Club and numerous business auctions. But by and large the heart and soul of the company has been providing services to individuals.

The 3 Holt boys Kevin, Raymond and Steve grew up surrounded by the steady chant of the auctioneer and a passion for the industry and all went on to be professional champion auctioneers. While the family experienced a tragic loss of their son Raymond they endeavored to continue on in the auction industry with their sons Kevin operating Holt & Associates and Steven having moved to Tennessee founding an additional company Compass Auctions & Real Estate in that area. While Ray and Gerry have sold the warehouse that has been home to the business they will be handing over the reins of the family company to the Kevin and Steve, and Ray commented "that while this is an era of transition and changes in Holt & Associates the next generation will venture to serve clients in new and innovative ways while continuing the reliable and trustworthy auction and valuation services the firm has been remarkable at for over 42 years".

The final public auction event at this location will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday June 23^rd at the 704 Arrawanna auction center and has over 400+ lots with items such as Trucks, Motorcycles, Firearms, Tools, Equipment, and Taxidermy mounts which people can attend live or bid online at holtauction.com.
