- The train comprises of 14 air conditioned coaches, which consist of 52 rooms allocated to single, double and triple occupancies. These coaches were used by the erstwhile Nizams, Viceroys and Maharajas.

- Every coach has is decorated to match the Rajput aesthetics and are named after palaces and hunting lodges. Each has a mini pantry cum lounge where the guests can get freshly made hot and cold beverages at any hour of the day and night.

- PoW has couple of dining cars, Maharaja and Maharani which are elegantly ornamented and serve continental, Chinese and Indian delicacies.

- Palace on Wheels has a well stocked bar which provides the best of Indian and international brands.

- Every suite has its own attendant/ khidmatgar who is available round the clock to cater to all needs.

- The train also has a large library and indoor games which give the tourists can opportunity to spend some time in solitude.
