Follow on Google News | Coyotes advance to Wild West Cup FinalWith a new style of play being implemented by new head coach Cristian Patiño, the Coyotes were able to dominate time of possession and dictate the flow of the game. The side was able to get its two goals before the end of the first half, first by Nick Tunic in the 41st minute, then by Salifu Jatta right at the first half whistle. The Coyotes then withstood a fury at the end of the game by Starphire to preserve the clean sheet. The win closes out June with a perfect 4-0 record. More impressively, the team went the entire month without allowing a goal in any of its four games; it's last goal allowed was to San Leandro United on May 26. NEXT UP: The Coyotes remain home for the Wild West Division Playoffs on Saturday, July 7. The team will host the Chico City Rangers. The Rangers drew with Napa Sporting 1-1 but advanced on penalties 4-1. Site and time for the match will be announced soon. NOTES: The winner of the Coyotes/Rangers match will face the winner of Cal Victory/JASA for the division championship. The Coyotes will host that match if they defeat Chico. The Wild West Champion will then take on the Southern California Champion for the Western Conference Championship on August 4 at a site still to be determined. That winner will then travel to Denver, CO for the UPSL National Championships. The Coyotes will take on Cal Victory FC in the Wild West Cup Final on Saturday, July 21. That match will be held at Dougherty High School in San Ramon, CA at 7:00 pm. The Wild West All-Star match will precede the cup final at 5:00 pm, featuring players from the other 11 teams. The Coyotes are now undefeated in their last 16 UPSL matches, dating back to December 9. For more information on the Coyotes, visit http://www.nvcoyotesfc.com. End
