Magnolias of Lancaster new executive director brings diverse background

LANCASTER, Pa. - July 11, 2018 - PRLog -- Jessica Etter officially assumed the role as executive director at Magnolias of Lancaster senior living community in May. But her experience in personal and dementia care is extensive.

    "I look forward to sharing my expertise with our staff while building relationships with my new families and friends," Etter said. "I have years of experience in the personal care industry, professionally and personally. I have experienced all positions within a personal care home -- from sales, providing care and medication, as well as administration."

    Dementia care has a special significance to Etter, a York County native who saw first-hand the effects the disease has on individuals and their families.

    "Most of my time has been spent in dementia care, supporting resident needs and managing the front-line staff," said Etter, who spent several years as a director at a secured dementia community and is active in the Alzheimer's Association. "I have a personal touch with those who suffer from the disease, as I was the primary caregiver for my late grandmother during the last years of her life. I owe where and who I am today, personally and professionally, to her. That's why I will continue to provide a hands-on approach in all aspects at Magnolias."

    Magnolias of Lancaster has 24-hour personal care and provides specialized dementia care to meet residents' individual needs.
