Wadsworth Gaining Inpatient Drug Treatment Center

WADSWORTH, Ohio - July 12, 2018 - PRLog -- An inpatient drug treatment center is going to open soon in Wadsworth, Ohio and will be the first of its kind in Medina County.

Community Assessment Treatment Services (CATS), a Cleveland-based healthcare provider, will be starting a brand new inpatient treatment facility for people struggling with substance use disorders. The inpatient drug treatment center will open sometime this month after it gets approved by Ohio's Mental Health and Addiction Services.

CATS started in 1990 and began as a community assessment program that was started as an alternative to jail for people that had been arrested for driving under the influence. CATS would start a detox center a year later and then soon focus on addiction treatment for substance abuse.

The inpatient addiction treatment center is going to be the fifth property run by CATS in Ohio for residents struggling with substance use disorders. The services will be completely covered by the state's Medicaid insurance program.

Medina officials last week and the leaders of CATS allowed the public to view the new inpatient addiction treatment center, which was built in the old location of the Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman Medical Center's physical wing.

The new inpatient drug abuse treatment center was approved in February 2017 when the Wadsworth-Rittman Area Joint Township Hospital District and Summa Health came to a legal settlement.
