CROUCH END, U.K. - July 30, 2018 - PRLog -- The post box had been removed during the renovation of the Post Office, but wasn't replaced. Elliot Jacobs, MD of UOE which runs the Crouch End Post Office franchise, believed a post box is essential outside any Post Office and started an online petition to have it replaced. The petition came to the attention of the MP for Hornsey & Wood Green, Catherine West, who intervened and wrote to the Royal Mail.

The Royal Mail have replied to Catherine to let her know they will now be installing a new post box, hopefully within 12-16 weeks.

Elliot Jacobs is delighted that the petition, which was signed by over 100 people, has worked so effectively. "I'd like to thank all those people who signed the petition and, of course, Catherine and her team for their intervention. Our customers tell us they expect a post box outside the main Post Office so they can post their letters when the shop is shut. There is space for a letter box, right in front of the Post Office. And as the Royal Mail used to do daily collections from the old post box anyway, it's doing the community a disservice by not replacing it. Currently the nearest street post boxes are over two roads away from the branch, which makes life difficult for elderly and disabled users, so it's great that there'll be a post box outside the Post Office once again."
