Six-Word Prayer Promises Connection With God

"Prayers of petition are an indication that something is lacking, of being in need, yet with God, all petitions are satisfied and all needs met. Our task should always be to first know and then love God, for this is where salvation lies."

"The first thing we must do is let go. It is our holding on, our need to be in control, that causes most of the misery. This is why the first part of the prayer starts with 'Let go...' once we do, we're halfway home as control is finally relinquished. There is a reason you can let go. God is here, always here to catch you, so to speak. The Golden Prayer puts you squarely in His hands, not yours. Here is your salvation... the constant reliance upon God."

Raised in the Jewish faith, Weiss, who spent eight years thinking about The Golden Prayer before writing it says the entire problem of humanity can be reduced to what we desire, and if we desire the world more than God, we're lost or 'in bondage' as Weiss calls it in his book.

"To become free, we must love God more than the world," says Edward. When we do, we become blessed and are finally home."
