To The Beat! drops on Netflix – announces sequel!

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Aug. 8, 2018 - PRLog -- After topping the charts with it's March 13^th premiere on Amazon, iTunes and multiple VOD platforms, To The Beat! launched yesterday on Netflix and now can be seen on the digital giant in the United States, Canada, UKIE and ANZ. The teen dance comedy, directed by veteran actress Jillian Clare (Victorious: Freak The Freak Out, Alien Abduction, Days of Our Lives), tells the story of fourteen year old twin sisters Mia and Mackie who enter a social media contest to be dancers in their favorite pop stars music video, which leads to a battle with their rival across the street, Avery, the best dancer of all, who will stop at nothing to win the contest.

Headlining the teen populated flick and returning to star in the sequel are real-life besties Laura Krystine (100 Things To Do Before High School, Instructions Not Included) and top teen model turned actress Brisa Lalich, who play fraternal twins Also starring in the film is Jayden Bartels (Social Media Star, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, Dance Moms) who is returning as the twins spunky neighbor, Avery, the best dancer of all who knows it too. The film plans to bring back several other original cast members for To The Beat! 2 including Marie Wilson starring as the twins mom, Lilly Melgar, as the fashionista Aunt, plus Martha Madison and Eric Martsolf, as Avery's parents and Avery Hewitt, as her younger sister. Announced last night, at the Netflix release party, is the addition of Bryce Xavier (Family Time, Alexa & Katie, Social Media Star) who will be joining the sequel in a starring role as the story shifts from summer (as in the original) to a performing arts school. Casting will begin in October for additional teen roles.

"I'm so excited to be continuing the To The Beat! story!" said director Jillian Clare. "I love these characters so much and the kids are just wonderful. The sequel is going to be great!" To The Beat! and the upcoming sequel, To The Beat! 2, are produced by Susan Bernhardt, and her company Leonian Pictures, alongside Clare's production company, Whimsical Entertainment. The duo created the story and the script was written by Susan Bernhardt (who will also be penning the sequel). The film is distributed worldwide by Vision Films.
