CARLISLE, Pa. - Aug. 30, 2018 - PRLog -- The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation's annual events schedule is nearly complete in 2018, and while a few events remain for the CMAF team, they finally were able to host their first Carlisle, Pennsylvania based gathering recently.  Held August 24, 2018 as part of the international recognized Corvettes at Carlisle weekend, the 4th Annual CMAF Benefit Dinner welcomed a few hundred guests to wine, dine, celebrate Chip Miller and raise money/awareness for Amyloidosis.

With the spacious Carlisle Expo Center playing host amid a backdrop of Corvettes, guests from the region over converged on Carlisle to be part of the fun.  As the DJ played music, guests mingled and reviewed the items up for auction later in the night, all while enjoying appetizers and drinks from Market Cross Pub and Brewery, a local Carlisle establishment.

Another great backdrop to the event, aside from the Corvettes on display, was the amazing array of door prizes that would be up for auction.  Those items included a Spring Mountain Motor Resort/Ron Fellows Driving school package (with hotel), a custom print of the winner's Corvette (drawn by J.D. Orr), special items from Team Chevrolet, a Chip's Circle VIP package for 2019 that included three nights lodging, a chance to have a scale model made custom to the winner's Corvette and more.

With guests, friends, family, car clubs and more in attendance, thousands of dollars were raised for the CMAF and more importantly, even more awareness was raised.  Via the auction, the top dollar items included the Spring Mountain Motor Resort price pack as well as the 2019 Corvettes at Carlisle VIP Package.  In total, over $15,000 came in due to the generosity of guests and friends of the CMAF.

""The CMAF dinner was magical in many ways," noted Lance Miller, president of the CMAF.  "Friends were formed, food was tasty, auction items were incredible and the cars were over the top," continued Miller.  "The energy in the Carlisle Expo center was full of fun and smiles.  Joe Abal was the auctioneer and really helped keep it action packed all evening. Best of all we helped raise funds and awareness for a dreaded disease that took my father's life in 2004 – Amyloidosis."

Miller concluded "on behalf of the CMAF board, my family and I we'd like to thank everyone involved! Life is good."

Up next for the CMAF is the 3rd Annual Hugh Claus 5K fun run and walk.  The race takes place Sunday, September 23 in South Seaside Park, New Jersey.  Registration is open now via www.ChipMiller.org (under the events tab).  Following the 5K event, the CMAF puts the pedal to the metal with a special track day at the New Jersey Motorsports Park.  That takes place November 11 and much like the 5K, details are available online under the events tab).
