United Premier Soccer League Welcomes Sharks FC as Southeast Conference Expansion Team

LOS ANGELES - Sept. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Sharks FC as a member starting with the 2018 Fall Season.

Based in Boynton Beach (Fla.), Sharks FC started UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida South Division on Sunday, Aug. 26.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Divisions Manager Christian Vallejos said, "It's great to have Sharks FC in the UPSL Florida South Division. Owner Samson Louis Jean is committed to the youth in his community and his grass-roots approach is developing players with character and passion. We welcome Sharks FC to the UPSL."

Samson Louis Jean is Owner and President of Sharks FC. A native of Haiti, Louis Jean, 35, played as a youth and currently owns and operated a trucking company.

Sharks FC Owner Samson Louis Jean said, "I tried one or two times to start a team and Haiti and it didn't work out and I came to the United States and started playing locally and then it was 14, 15, 16 guys and here was are with Sharks FC. Our biggest plan was to join the UPSL because as a team it might be a great move for the young players. It's a way for them to show their talents, and make them available to pro teams and college scholarships. We saw the UPSL was of big interest to our players as a way they can be seen by other teams."

Rodan Francois, 32, is Head Coach of Sharks FC. A native of Haiti, Francois was a high school player in South Florida.

Sharks FC also currently trains competitive boys and girls, ages 15-and-older, from around Miami and the surrounding areas of South Florida.

Sharks FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Boynton Beach, Fla., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Sharks FC will begin play in the UPSL Pro Premier.

Founded in 2017, Sharks FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 200 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
