{9} The Gallery Presents SPACEGIRLS: A Cosmic Fantasy by Matthew Goodall

PHOENIX - Sept. 18, 2018 - PRLog -- Join us as {9} debuts a seductive new watercolor collection, Spacegirls by Matthew Goodall, opening First Friday, October 5th, 6-10 PM at {9} The Gallery, 1229 Grand Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Goodall's collection is a beautiful twist on the paperback Femme Fatale style on par with icons like Robert McGinnis and Paul Rader.

Goodall states, "The inspiration of this series is a combination of my love of science fiction and pin-up illustrations. This series looks to emulate the book cover and advertisements of the past that could tell a story in a single painting. I like to think of the Spacegirl series as my homage to the retro noir book covers and movie posters that I loved growing up."

Hailing from Flint Michigan, Matthew Goodall completed his art education at Central Michigan University. As an accomplished comic book and fine artist, Goodall's work focuses on creating a visual story for the viewer through the use of the human figure, shapes and color. "My work explores compositional relationships created through combination of the human figure with color structures. By combining these forms, I strive to create layers of interest and beauty that captures the attention of the viewer. Each work looks to create visual interest through the unique shapes, expressive forms, and vibrant color contained in each composition."

Spacegirls runs throughout the month of October at {9} The Gallery.

{9} The Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Phoenix's Historic Grand Avenue District.
