ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Sept. 24, 2018 - PRLog -- Drinking in college in the U.S. has gone back and forth over the years but remains steady, based on a survey —Monitoring the Future, by the Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan, published in July.

The survey showed that 79.1 percent of college students said that they drank alcohol in 2017, compared to 81.3 in 2016. College students had a larger occurrence of binge drinking at 33 percent than peers who are not in college at 28 percent. Many university students said they had been drunk (35 percent) compared to those who weren't in college (30 percent).

Binge drinking rose as students aged; 22 percent of 19 to 20 year olds said that they had five or more drinks in the past two weeks in contrast to 40 percent of 21 to 22 year olds.
