PIET signs MoU with Australian Institute of Water Sciences

PANIPAT, India - Oct. 10, 2018 - PRLog -- 5th October 2018, Prof. Phillip Bell visited Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), which is one of the Best Engineering College in Delhi NCR, Best Engineering Institutes in Delhi Haryana, an institute approved by AICTE and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It is situated on NH-44 (earlier NH-1) 50 minutes away from Delhi border on the Delhi-Panipat lane. The amphitheater periphery was decorated with the Australian and Indian flag posts and the flags beautifully waving with the breeze.

Prof Phillip Bell was here to sign an MoU with PIET for establishing 'Establishing a Center for Excellence in Environmental Sciences', with specific focus on waste water management and water pollution reduction, which is a concern of each and every country of the globe and which is also the responsibility of each and every citizen of this planet.

Prof. Bell further added that these aspects of water management have assumed a professional status in Australia and lot of career opportunities with excellent pay package are available for the youth. He said, "My visit to PIET is successful as the management here has decided to open a Center for Excellence in Environmental Sciences including waste water management and water pollution."

Speaking on the occasion Shri Hari Om Tayal, Chairman PIET, said,

"I am delighted to welcome Prof. Phillip Bell of Australian Institute of Water Sciences for signing an agreement to formalize and deepen the partnerships between our two organizations for the cause of enhancing the educational levels of the youth from both the countries, a venture to train the Indian aspirants to this new field of global importance as water and environment are the two most echoing words of the day."

He further added that close to the heels of a recently signed MoU with the Korean National University, this agreement is a significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration process of academic excellence in the newer streams. It, therefore, warrants a focus on expertise on fostering environment management skills suited to the global situation. I strongly believe that now is the right moment to strengthen our cooperation and enhance standards to set on the path of acquiring unique skills, for which PIET is the launch pad.

Welcoming Prof. Phillip Bel of Australian Institute of Water Science's, Prof. Shakti Kumar, Director PIET said, "Haryana and Delhi NCR Regions are fortunate to have an institute like Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology which has already made strides in the academic direction by placing the focus on quality education and serve with a' whole-of-society' approach highlighting the critical relevance of social, economic and environmental health to youth education. The name and fame of our institute has since crossed the Indian boundaries and that is the reason the Australian Institute of Water Sciences has chosen PIET to start with is kind of global level centre here."

He further added that we live in demanding times and are ought to face complex challenges that have profound implications on the next gen. which call for new ways of working. In this context, the Memorandum of Understanding we have signed today, along with its accompanying action plan, brings us to the start line of new goals and targets set out in the field environmental sciences, which for our country is a new discipline.

Mr. Rakesh Tayal, Member BOG, presented the vote of thanks.

He said, "We have had an extremely useful day here at PIET this afternoon. We are indebted to Prof. Phillip Bell from Australia for today's Memorandum of Understanding with Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology to establish this centre Excellence in Environmental Sciences.

I feel satisfied that the MoU that we have just signed would become add a new laurel to our cap to make us more distinct and discreet. It is more significant to ensure that we keep strengthening our cooperation and collaboration to keep the flags of both countries flying high all the time.
