PANIPAT, India - Nov. 27, 2018 - PRLog -- Very recently, on 21st November, Hon'ble HRD Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar, declared the launch of 'Institution Innovation Council'. This drive by the Government of India is aimed at involving Higher Education Institutions to encourage, inspire and nurture young minds to befriend innovative practices right from the formative years so that they come out to be more skilled professionals and technocrats.

It is a matter of pride for us that amongst 1000 institutions selected across India, Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), an institute approved by AICTE and affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra was one of these. And we have been chosen to be a part of this council for which a 'One Star' certificate has been awarded.

While accepting the certification award Mr. Rakesh Tayal, Member BOG PIET, said, "This pilot project aims to support top-class innovators, researchers and budding engineers with bright ideas and the ambition to scale-up internationally or be very successful entrepreneurs. This will further build a path leading India to a New Horizon. As we all know this is the era of fast track disruptive and market-creating innovation. I am assured by my past experience that PIETians would be able to create an impression in this creative field.

This is how we train our students to provide advice to each other on how to solve problems and address opportunities. I feel whether the mode of change is evolution, revolution, or disruptive, all of us must respond quickly in an increasingly competitive environment. We must value the power of peer learning, which is the key word for this new initiative by the Indian Government. Enduring relationships with trusted peers are the core of this learning platform. The PIET students look forward enthusiastically to the slated workshops on 'design thinking', 'Leadership Talk', 'Field Trips' and 'Workshop on Business Development'. Inspired by their prize winning participation in 'Hackathon 2K17' they feel themselves on their toes for the upcoming competition.

This institute is located at 70 miles stone on NH44, Delhi-Panipat section and hence convenient to approach from any direction. The campus is vast like an empire with tall structures, inside so beautiful and soothing. The spacious, well lighted and well furnished class rooms are air-conditioned to ensure day long ease to the aspirants to focus on their curriculum and other activities. The campus is spread over 16 acres, 75% of which is the green area. It has a book rich library and 20 computer labs arrayed with 1200 computers complemented by a round the clock Wi-Fi facility and a Net-Café to enable students explore the globe. There are three hostels for boys and girls as well as a faculty resident area. Hostels too have a choice of AC/Air-cooled options. There are 28 science labs and workshops equipped with latest tools, a PVR style auditorium with 500 seats and an open air theater built on Roman design of architecture to seat 3000+ spectators, a food canteen for all in addition to the hostlers, stationery shop and banking services etc.
