Attorney Jessica White Appointed Human Resources Risk Advisor at Cavignac & Associates

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- Veteran human resources expert Jessica White, Esq., SPHR, has been appointed human resources risk advisor at Cavignac & Associates, announced Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, RPLU, CRIS, company principal and founder of the downtown San Diego-based risk management and insurance brokerage firm.

         In her new role, White provides pragmatic advice to Cavignac & Associates' clients to help them reduce the frequency and severity of their employee claims.  She primarily interacts with corporate executives and their companies' respective human resource professionals, counseling them on human resources best practices, presenting practical training, and drafting and/or reviewing human resource materials for compliance.

         White brings to Cavignac & Associates more than 15 years of experience in human resources, 10 of which were in corporate management.  After becoming a licensed attorney, she founded her own firm, JW Employment Law Center, which provided human resources consulting and employment litigation services primarily to the small business community.  The company quickly earned a sterling reputation within the business community based on White's extensive knowledge of human resources and employment law, as well as the close working relationships she developed with her clients.

         After serving in the U.S. Army, White graduated summa cum laude from the College of St. Scholastica in St. Paul, Minn., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management, with an emphasis in human resources.  Subsequently she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn., where she graduated on the Dean's List with several academic awards for the highest grades in her class.

         She began her law career by completing prestigious internships with the Minneapolis office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), where she evaluated charge investigations and mediated disputes; and with the Minnesota Court of Appeals, where she drafted several court decisions.

         White was voted "Favorite Attorney" in the Minnesota Women's Press magazine.  She also was recognized repeatedly by the New Business Minnesota newspaper, for which she was a contributing writer, a recognized "Resource Hero", and a seminar presenter.  She also was a successful litigator who routinely obtained favorable employment-related verdicts, appeals and settlements on behalf of her clients.

         She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation and maintains her license to practice law so she can stay abreast of new developments in the employment law arena.

         White grew up in Minneapolis and relocated to San Diego in 2015.  She lives with her two children, Alex and Nylah, both in middle school.  She is passionate about traveling, music and philanthropy.  She also enjoys camping, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, biking, reading, and playing and listening to music.
