Charles County Public Library First in County to Offer "Lawyer in the Library" Community Project

WALDORF, Md. - Oct. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- Today the Charles County Public Library (CCPL) will host its first "Lawyer in the Library" event. Maryland Legal Aid - Southern Maryland Bureau will be on site at the P.D. Brown Memorial Branch from 12 PM - 2 PM providing basic pro bono legal advice for Maryland legal matters. Five attorneys and two paralegals will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance.

Help will be available on a first come, first served basis, and attendees must be over the age of 18 to participate. No appointments are necessary, but attendees are encouraged to have all relevant documents on hand.

The one-on-one civil legal advice provided will be on a variety of issues including:

• Bankruptcy
• Child Custody & Support
• Debt Collection
• Expungements
• Government Benefits
• Foreclosure
• Landlord/Tenant
• Veterans' Benefits
• Wage Claims

Today's event launches a quarterly commitment by CCPL to offer its residents access to free civil legal services. The program will continue in January, April, and July 2019. For more information on this event, and other programs offered by the library, please visit www.ccplonline.org.
