The Bear Creek School Hosts Tools for Success Seminar

 
REDMOND, Wash. - Oct. 23, 2018 - PRLog -- The Bear Creek School is hosting Tools for Success, a parenting and academic strategies event, on November 3, 2018. Tools for Success is free and open to the public. This event features a keynote and 22 breakout sessions on a variety of developmental, educational, and academic topics.

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and refreshments. At 9:00 a.m., Cynthia Tobias, an internationally recognized author and speaker, will deliver the keynote entitled "More Than Just Another Day of School," providing insights and practical strategies for recognizing and appreciating all kinds of learning styles. Multiple breakout sessions on topics related to parenting and academic strategies will follow. Parents with children of all ages as well as middle school and high school students will gain the latest in academic information and advice in addition to parenting research, encouragement, and support strategies.

There are many sessions for parents of young children such as "Why Kids Misbehave," "Personality and Temperament," and "Raising a Resilient Child." Tobias is also presenting a double session entitled, "You Can't Make Me, But I Can Be Persuaded" about working with a strong-willed child. There are several sessions designed specifically for student audiences, including "Innovate. Make. Create.," "Speaking With Confidence," and "College Itch," and other sessions intended for parents of older students such as "Preparing Your Child for Adulthood" and "Culture of Competition."
