By: www.lpu.in This record surpasses the 2011 Guinness World Record when 2,100 people performed bhangra. Previously, such an attempt was also made in the year 2012 on foreign-lands which was failed to make the world record. For streamlining the mammoth event, 35 cultural coordinators from different departments and student organizations of the university actively participated along with 100+ student volunteers. 33 boxes for diverse participants in each were carved out on the floor of the Unipolis. Congratulating all at the managing affairs of the event, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shared that the event created a history at the campus where participants upheld the Punjabi culture and spirit. A large number of foreigners from America, England, Canada, Australia and more specially witnessed the event. Chief coordinator of the event and Head of World Bhangra Association (England) Tarlochan Singh Bilgha informed that the event was organized to promote Punjabi culture especially on Punjab Day (1st November). Dhol Maestro Mall was overwhelmed by the final outcome of the event, as the Guinness World Records are the most prestigious type of record in the world. Participating students Ashma, Sagarika, Ahsan, Robert and more shared: "We are extremely happy to make the World Record. Breaking a record leaves a lasting memory for everyone – it was especially great because it happened at our university." End
