Share Good Announces Omaha As First Expansion Market

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Dec. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- Share Good, a community engagement software company, today announced that its first expansion market, Omaha, Nebraska, will launch in January. $750,000 in seed funding raised earlier this year was used to make key hires and build out the software.  Share Good's lead investor, the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation (SWSF), is located in Omaha.

Share Good is an inclusive search engine that makes it easy for people to find any local nonprofit and engage with them by donating money, volunteering time or buying much needed items from their wish lists. The goal is to strengthen communities by inspiring and facilitating engagement with its local nonprofit network.

"When we learned about Share Good's mission, we immediately recognized the scalability of SHARE Charlotte's proven model and huge potential for social impact in communities across the country," says Calvin Sisson, executive director of SWSF. "We can't tell you how thrilled we are for Omaha to be one of the first beneficiaries of this engine for good."

SHARE Omaha has already hired a seasoned CSR professional, Marjorie Maas, as executive director as well as a community partnership manager and marcom manager.  "Omaha is all in for good," said Maas who previously led Corporate and Social Responsibility for BCBS in Omaha.  "Last month, we hosted two days of demo sessions with the nonprofit community and have already registered more than 90 partners."

CEO of Share Good, Kelly Brooks, founded SHARE Charlotte in 2012, which now has more than 460 nonprofits partners, with the intent of building a model that could scale to cities across the country.

"We're really gaining momentum and awareness with inquiries from a variety of communities," said Brooks.  "Right now, we're focused on scaling the technology, getting the first two markets online and planning for the next phase of business."
