Staker Parson Materials & Construction Project SR 167 Recognized for Quality in Construction

OGDEN, Utah - Dec. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Staker Parson Materials & Construction, A CRH Company, will be recognized at National Asphalt Pavement Association's (NAPA) 64th Annual Meeting in January for its work on SR 167 in Mountain Green and Huntsville, Utah, (Trappers Loop Project). Staker Parson Materials & Construction will receive the Quality in Construction Award which is awarded to companies with a commitment to building high-quality, smooth, durable pavements for the driving public.

Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Utah, SR 167 or Trappers Loop Road, winds through the canyon surrounded by extraordinary scenery. The renewal of Trappers Loop (https://www.standard.net/news/government/construction-finished-on-trappers-loop-all-lanes-of-mountain-highway/article_553ce052-71f0-58e2-bb5f-c3f9c4ad8b4c.html) was needed to help meet Utah Department of Transportation's (UDOT) goals of optimizing mobility, preserving infrastructure and zero crashes and fatalities. Parts of the pavement had reached the end of its lifecycle. Staker Parson crews rehabilitated 11 miles of pavement and updated all guardrails. Steep grades and several curves posed a challenge to the crews, but they were overcome through effective coordination and hard work.

"Working with Staker Parson has been an excellent experience," said UDOT Engineer, PJ Roubinet. "This project has improved safety through an updated guardrail and motorcycle rail and will serve the traveling public for years to come."

"The crews achieved zero lost time incidents on this project which added to the 10 million hours of no lost time incidents for the North Wasatch area spanning over the course of 14 years," said Region VP Jake Goodliffe. "This is a testament to the excellent team we have in Utah and the strong relationship we have with UDOT."

Staker Parson Materials & Construction has performed work on many other NAPA Award winning projects throughout Utah including the Salt Lake City Airport Runway and Taxiways, US 40 in Wasatch County and I-15 in Farmington, Utah. The Staker Parson team also has many Diamond Certified Plants throughout Utah and one Diamond Certified Oil Terminal in Ogden, Utah.
