Courteville holds 6th Successful Free Skill Acquisition

VICTORIA ISLAND, Nigeria - Dec. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- The 3 Day Free Skill Acquisition Program which had its 6th installment between the 28th and 30th of November, 2018 was no doubt a success with a huge turn out from various parts of the country.

The 3 Day event which first kicked off in October of 2015 as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the people of Yaba and its environs is an initiative of the staff and backed wholeheartedly by the management of Nigeria's foremost e-business solutions company, Courteville Business Solutions Plc. The first edition ensured the program was etched into the Courteville CSR policy and has become a bi-annual program (April and November).

The event which is set up to train budding entrepreneurs to develop skillsets in different categories of skills ranging from Digital Marketing/Marketing, Hall Decoration/Event Management, Ankara Craft/ Bag Making, Television/ Camera Production, Tailoring, Make Up/Gele Tying, Catering, Soap Making/ Toilet Wash/ Air Freshener, Bead Making/Cloth Beading, Smoothies and Drinks, Baking, Hat Making, Computer Basics and Graphics Design, Photography, Small Chops, Hair Making, Shoe Making and Paint Production with side attractions such as Packaging, Customer Service Basics, Marketing and Accounting Basics with close to a thousand registrants from Ogun, Oyo, Imo and Rivers states not forgetting those that came from Imota, Ikorodu and other areas of Lagos.

After the inception of the initiative which had 20 participants in attendance, there has been a bigger turn out subsequently with 130 people attending in March 2016, 490 in November 2016, 430 in April 2017, 679 in November 2017 and 337 in April 2018.

However, a whopping 744 active participants that took part in the just concluded program from the 1,023 that registered.

The event which the staff of the organization as the core trainers was also supported by a few external volunteers to ensure all went smoothly.

The 3 Day Event which is centered on 2 days of training with the 3rd day strictly for putting to practice what was taught the preceding days with the program wrapped with an exhibition and issuance of certificates of attendance.

The next edition holds in April, 2019 with a date to be communicated in due time.
