DALLAS - Dec. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- As part of Black History Month, 'In the Spirit Entertainment Foundation' will highlight historical excerpts of historical African-American leaders and ancestors from around the globe that played the most significant roles in our past and present, that greatly enhanced the future of African-Americans.  Excerpts of the stage play #WeWoke' to celebrate and commemorate stories told by Black America.  Each storyline and act will feature prominent public figures from the 1960's and the 1970's that significantly influenced both Black America and Grassroots America.

In recognition to name a few characterizations of our African-American icons and legends, the list will tribute Dallas natives, gospel legend Tommy Young West,(Played by herself)  Hair care leader Isabell Cottrell, Radio legend Tom Joyner, Blues legend, Johnny Taylor and many more. This is a must-see production for all ethnicities, races and genders in Dallas, TX and its surroundings.

These powerful and dramatic adaptations of our rich black history will be performed at the "Dallas Lit" event on February 16th, 2019 the festivities begin at 2pm to 10:pm, dinner for the Arts begin at 6:30pm. Join to celebrate at the MCM Elegante Hotel at the South Dallas Cultural Center, located at 2330 W Northwest Hwy Dallas, TX 75210

In the Spirit Entertainment Foundation is a Texas-based 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to improve overall health and wellness both nationally and globally by increasing awareness of health-related issues, providing free health screenings, promoting proper diet and exercise, and improving literacy for both youths and adults.

In an effort to improve overall health and wellness, we are collaborating with local colleges and public libraries to offer assistance in ACT and SAT preparation for middle and high school students, along with free tutoring sessions. We strive to improve literacy throughout the United States, with a focus on poverty-stricken areas. We firmly believe that increasing literacy will create positive minds, produce job opportunities, improve the economy and decrease crime rates across the country.

The 'In the Spirit Entertainment Foundation' is also committed to producing 'Arts' and 'Entertainment with the highest professional standards for independent artists while promoting family, culture and healthy lifestyles.

**There is a $15 entry donation for admission and $40 donation for dinner to observe and appreciate the Dallas Lit event and Dinner for the Arts, support the Arts**
