2019 Arizona Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER FOR THE RACE CREW!
The Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon is rockin' through your neighborhood January 17 - 20, 2019. Over 20,000 runners will race to the finish, but they won't be the only ones out on the streets of Arizona. Rock 'n' Roll Arizona also features live bands playing every mile, as well as a post-race headliner concert. It's a 26.2 mile block party!

Volunteering for the Race Crew means you will not only be supporting thousands of aspiring runners and walkers, but also the communities of Phoenix, Scottsdale & Tempe! We need your help to make this event spectacular, and with over 1,500 Race Crew volunteer positions available there is a spot for everyone, including teams, corporate groups, or just friends and family.

o Expo Setup – 1:00pm to 4:00pm
• Friday, January 18 - Expo
o Shift 1 – 11:00AM to 3:30PM o Shift 2 – 2:30PM to 7:00PM
• Friday, January 18 – 1 Mile
o 1 Mile Race – 5:00PM to 7:00PM
• Saturday, January 19 – Expo o Shift 1 – 8:00AM to 1:30PM o Shift 2 – 12:30PM to 5:30PM
• Saturday, January 19
o 5K – 6:15am to 9:30am
o KiDS ROCK – 9:00am to 12:00pm

Issue participant bibs and packets of important information.

GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS

Distribute race participant T-shirts and Swag Bags to participants. Assist participants within the store, including check-out process.

Direct participants in finding their assigned corral and assist in Start Area as needed. GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS

Collect and check in participant gear bags and assist runners during the process. GREAT FOR GROUPS OF LARGE GROUPS

Set up and distribute water and refreshments to participants in Start Village prior to the start of the race.

Race Crew Volunteers are needed to facilitate the organization of gear bags, and return gear to each participant. GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS

Hand out medals, water, sports drink, fruit, protein/energy bars plus other food items after participants cross the Finish Line.

Various Locations along the Course:

Groups of 20 to 60 individuals are needed to hand out water, sports drink and energy gel along the course.
