Agency on Aging Appoints Beverly Burge to the Advisory Council

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. - Dec. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- The Board of Directors of the Agency on Aging of Northeastern Illinois has appointed Beverly Burge to the Agency's Advisory Council as a Will County representative. Beverly will fill a vacant position and serve a three-year term.

Ms. Burge is retired after a career in administration. Before her retirement, she was the Administrative Manager at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center where she managed and prepared a $10 million dollar research grant funded by the National Cancer Institute. Beverly has a history of advocacy with abused women and has volunteered many hours at a domestic violence shelter. She currently volunteers with AARP and at Guardian Angel Community Services in Joliet as a Facilitator of an Empowerment group. In addition, she is very involved with the Jubilee Baptist Church in Bolingbrook.

"She shows tremendous leadership skills and is a true advocate for older adults in getting them access to programs and services that will keep them independent which will serve her well in her new role."

The Agency on Aging of Northeastern Illinois is a nonprofit organization responsible for developing and coordinating a network of services for older persons throughout an eight county area in northeastern Illinois. The Agency informs and advises public and private agencies and the general public of the needs of older persons living in the area, and acts as an advocate on their behalf. The agency serves DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.
