Heart of Hospice Chief Executive Officer, Carla Davis, was elected to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Board of Directors

LAFAYETTE, La. - Jan. 7, 2019 - PRLog -- Carla Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Heart of Hospice, was elected to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) board.

NHPCO is the largest nonprofit hospice and palliative care membership organization in the United States. The organization works to on improve and expand end-of-life care by coordinating with varying hospice and palliative care organizations to mobilize social change and advocate for hospice patients and their families through education, research, and collaboration.

The initiatives of the organization are discussed, planned, and executed through the dedicated efforts of the NHPCO Board of Directors in conjunction with participating organizations.

As a devoted leader of and an advocate for hospice care, Davis has accepted a position as a member of the NHPCO Board of Directors.

Davis' passion for hospice care began at an early age when she volunteered at a local agency in college. After graduation, she immediately pursued a career in the hospice field where her talent was quickly recognized. Davis currently has over 27 years of diverse experience in hospice that includes, but is not limited to, positions as Senior Provider Education Consultant for Palmetto GBA, Development Manager for Vencor, Chief Operating Officer for VistaCare, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Heartland Home Health and Hospice, and, currently, Chief Executive Officer of Heart of Hospice.

Cindy Frazier, Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Organizational Integrity, states that Davis is the epitome of a true leader. Frazier shared, "Carla has a unique understanding of the rules and regulations which govern hospice in addition to an extensive background in operations and sales. As the Chief Compliance Officer, I sleep well at night knowing a person of such immense character and integrity is our Chief Executive Officer. It is an honor to work alongside her day in and day out."

Davis adds, "I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve on the NHPCO Board of Directors. I believe that if we all work together, employing our strengths, we can help break down barriers and increase access to hospice for eligible patients who need and deserve this care. Davis' three-year term begins in January of 2019 and ends in December of 2021.
