Follow on Google News | Jacob Tolliver Brings Unique Story to Mainstage Theater at Pheasant RunAfter teaching himself how to play the piano at the age of fourteen, by eighteen Jacob Tolliver was cast in a role of Jerry Lee Lewis in the Las Vegas production of Million Dollar Quartet.
By: Mainstage Theater at Pheasant Run During a visit back home in Portsmouth, friends posted a video of Jacob jamming on an old piano in the back of the local hardware store. This video went viral overnight and features 1.6 million shares to date. As fate would have it, Jacob auditioned for American Idol and rose through the ranks appearing on three televised episodes. His American Idol appearances caught the attention of 'The Killer' himself, Rock and Roll pioneer, Mr. Jerry Lee Lewis and, as a result, Jacob received an invitation to meet Mr. Lewis in person at his home in Mississippi. The two became fast friends and last year Jacob was invited to tour with Jerry Lee as his opening act; a rare occurrence as Mr. Lewis seldom uses opening acts. Jacob is currently embarking on his own solo career, writing and recording new original music in Nashville with number one hit songwriter Rick Ferrell. Rick's massive credits include 2009 most played song of the decade 'Something Like That' (aka The BBQ Stain song) and chart topping hits for Martina McBride and many others. In support of these efforts, Jacob is ready to hit the road with his own band of veteran Chicago based musicians, Mike Arturi (drums) Klem Hayes (bass) and Grant Tye (guitar). Check out Jacob Tolliver and experience your own phenomenon of fate! Jacob Tolliver will perform on the Mainstage Theater at Pheasant Run Sunday, January 20th at 3 p.m. Tickets are just $15 and overnight packages are available.
