Follow on Google News | Trinity Landing hits development milestoneLutheran Services Carolinas senior living community on the Intracoastal Waterway accepting deposits
Trinity Landing had previously been authorized to accept $100 priority deposits while awaiting approval of its follow-up application, submitted in July of 2018. The rigorous approval process often takes a year, but the Department of Insurance signed off on Trinity Landing's application in six months. "We have had a lot of priority depositors awaiting approval as anxiously as we have," said John Frye, the executive director of Trinity Landing. "Now we can allow them to make their permanent choice for a residence and put down a 10 percent deposit and make a binding commitment so we can move forward with the project." After Trinity Landing receives deposits for 70 percent of its 139 first-phase units, construction can begin. If deposits come in as projected, Frye says, construction will begin in the third quarter of 2019. The waterfront community will be completed by 2021 with a total of 205 units. In search of a continuing care retirement community that would allow them to pursue an active lifestyle in retirement, Wilmington residents Zan and Jerry Bramley were the first couple to put down a 10 percent deposit. Jerry Bramley has been a board member and a board chair of Lutheran Services Carolinas, and he was influential in getting Trinity Grove, LSC's health and rehab community in Wilmington, off the ground. "We are so full of joy that Trinity Landing has received approval," Zan Bramley said. "We are excited, hopeful, and ready for this next chapter in our lives."
