Target Roofing to complete reroof project on historic Martin Theatre in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Jan. 30, 2019 - PRLog -- Target Roofing & Sheet Metal is helping restore a historic landmark in downtown Panama City that was severely damaged during Hurricane Michael.

Martin Theatre, the center of Bay County's performing arts scene for generations, selected Target Roofing to complete a 12,546-square-foot reroofing project. The theatre has both flat and gabled roofing designs on multiple levels.

Target Roofing, a commercial roofing specialist, is experienced in repairing and replacing shingle, tile, metal and flat roofs damaged by tropical storms and hurricanes.

The Martin Theatre building opened in 1936 as the Ritz, a community theatre that attracted the likes of Clark Gable and Constance Bennett. As decades passed and ownership changed, though, the landmark facility had been left vacant and fell into a state of disrepair. Thirty years ago, community leaders rallied support and brought the theatre back to life. Today, Martin Theatre hosts a variety of theatrical performances, musicals, concerts, movie screenings and elegant banquets.

While the theatre is uninhabitable, performances and movie screenings are being held at the Panama City Center for the Arts and Majestic Beach Resort.
