MS Focus Partners with Lyft to Offer Transportation to Medical Appointments for People With MS

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Feb. 5, 2019 - PRLog -- MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Lyft, whose mission is to improve people's lives with the world's best transportation today announced a South Florida-based pilot program that will provide individuals with MS transportation to medical appointments. Rides will be offered to qualifying persons  going to neurologist or infusion appointments in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

The partnership will resolve problems that currently exist with other  paratransit services, which are provided through county transportation authorities in South Florida and are unable to cross county lines. This creates difficulties when a person with MS lives in one county but uses a doctor or infusion center in another county. The pilot program with Lyft is expected to alleviate those barriers, not only for individuals in situations where travel is needed cross-county, but also for  individuals with MS who don't qualify for paratransit and need transportation to medical appointments.
