Heart of Hospice expands services to eligible patients in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. - Feb. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Heart of Hospice, the largest hospice company in Louisiana, has announced that it is now serving patients in the Baton Rouge area.

The new Baton Rouge agency is led by Administrator and Baton Rouge native, Jamie Scavona, RN. Scavona is a seasoned nurse with over 24 years of experience.

When asked about the difference between Heart of Hospice and other hospice providers, Brandon Melancon, Regional Vice President of Operations for Louisiana, shared "Unlike other hospice providers, we serve all eligible patients in our service area regardless of where they live, whether they sign a Do Not Resuscitate order (DNR) or give up palliative treatments that give them comfort such as radiation, IV therapies, and physical therapies. At Heart of Hospice, we are here to meet patients and their loved ones where they are spiritually, mentally and physically. We encourage patients to retain their personal physicians after being admitted to hospice services, as our medical director and interdisciplinary team will work alongside patients' doctors to ensure they get the care they desire."
