The Super Bheem movie festival

Feb. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- When visual narration took over some decades ago, no one would have thought that it would become the mode of mass influence or as Julia Woods puts it, "the most pervasive and one of the most powerful". From being a medium of transporting information to influencing perceptions, television does it all. No one is able to stay aloof from it's sway. Television's cultivation effects have been widely discussed and debated, however social cognition of the projected imagery depends on the mental ability of a viewer and hence remains subjective. When your audience are young children, the medium can do wonders in teaching values by making the characters lovable enough for your children imbibe its values. It has the power of realigning beliefs and opinions.

It is important that a piece of art curated for children remains fun, relatable, aspiring and somewhere subtly inserts the needed social and moral values that a child should grasp essential for their age. The more layered it is, the more value it holds. Children would look forward to watching it and would want to be like the characters. In this scenario, enter the show Indian in nature, demeanor, setting and characters - Chota Bheem, airing on the most famous kids cartoon channel, Pogo. The creator of the show, Rajiv Chilaka, was inspired by mythological characters however mythology being so out there, he wanted to create something that had the air of exclusivity. In an interview, Chilaka said,  "I decided to pick the character and put him in a different set-up, era, time zone and different idea with different friends, thereby making him more fun."

Starting off with just 13 episodes, the show has gone to become India's most popular kids animated show thereby creating 155 episodes and 14 movies made especially for the TV audience. The action is taken a notch up with the series of our very own superhero movies. Super Bheem, the protagonist, saves the day with his friends, travelling to new places even planets and galaxies, helping people out and saving them from demons and villains. In response to the love and affection the show and its characters receive, Pogo is bringing for all the fans out there Super Bheem Movie Festival from 18th -22nd Feb, Monday to Friday at 7:00PM.
