Publisher of Westcoast German News launches European News

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - March 2, 2019 - PRLog -- After watching one German business after the other shut down recently, Elke Porter, who manages the Westcoast German News Blog and Germans in Vancouver Facebook Page, decided to expand her reach to Western Canada and to write something about all local European businesses or anyone in Canada selling European products or services. Thus, European News, found at www.westcoastgermannews.com was created just in time for the New Year in January 2019.

Along with reporting, Porter offers three main products:  a digital print-on-demand magazine published six times a year, blogs, Westcoast German News and European News, as well as a weekly Youtube Channel that talks about events, public relations, marketing and sales. Her most ambitious goal is to fill her online Business Directory with at least 1,000 European Companies in Canada, so that anyone seeking a French-speaking doctor, a Swiss Chef or an Italian Immigration Consultant can easily find one. Elke also has experience managing and setting up WordPress Websites and is helping the European Festival, the German Canadian Business Association and other clients update their website & social media pages on a regular basis.

Porter has been involved in the German Community in Vancouver since she moved to downtown Vancouver from Sydney, Australia in 2000.  She was a member of the German Canadian Congress, worked on the Deutschfest Committee for a year, and offered relocation consulting for newcomers to Vancouver.  Growing up, Porter was a student of the Surrey German Language School, went to Hannover on a student exchange, worked part-time renting motorhomes to German clients and met German tourists at Expo '86. In 2005, Porter launched "European InHome Services" to provide nannies and au pairs to local families, while in 2007, she launched "German Voices Vancouver", a 4-page newsletter that shared local German news stories and events with Canadians in Metro Vancouver

In Sydney, Australia, Porter was running a German Preschool in a private school and worked with Swiss, Austrian and German families. Currently, she is working on providing publicity and communications for European organizations, such as the European Festival, which is finally moving to Vancouver, BC. Porter has a Patreon page, and is seeking sponsors and patrons, who are interested in some of the projects Porter is involved in, especially, major German companies and European VIP's.
