Hip Hop Prodigy Wavii Drops New Single "GOLD"

Hailing from Yonkers, New York, Wavii has released his single "GOLD" to the world. The artist grew up with the spotlight on his father but is now ready to prove to the world he's got what it takes to step out of his shadow and become his own artist.

Released in February, "GOLD" has garnered much love from fans.  The artist has been rhyming since he was 13 but has just started taking music seriously. He's no stranger to the hip hop game.  His father is a bonified Hip Hop Pioneer and was part of the first generation of hip hop.

"That's probably why I didn't take it seriously," said Wavii.  "I thought it was a part of life. I had turntables in my living room most of the time. As I got older I worked on my skills and realized I have a gift and it's time for me to share."

"GOLD" is a Fun Song with an even more fun video. The visuals reflect Wavii's vision and are the perfect complement to the upbeat tune. You can catch Wavii at SXSW in March. Artists need to bring it back to when the crowd can sing your whole record with you, Hip Hop where the fans enjoy all 2:20 of a song and this will make artist accountable for their lyrics. Not only is he a rapper but Wavii is the co-founder of The Fly Go Gettaz that celebrates and supports a collective of artists from Yonkers, NY. Many of those artists will be releasing projects soon.
