Follow on Google News | ![]() Agency on Aging Northeastern Illinois to Host Fourth Advocacy Breakfast for Older AdultsThe purpose of the Advocacy Breakfast Collaborative is for older adults, caregivers and their advocates to meet federal, state and local legislators and voice their opinions on issues affecting these groups. It will include discussions on the state initiative to combat social isolation, dementia friendly communities, and other topics that are important to older adults. Community providers of services for seniors will give brief presentations about the value of home- and community-based services that positively impact the quality of life of seniors, people with disabilities, and caregivers. Legislators may raise other issues, and the program will conclude with a question-and- Federal and State Representatives and Senators who represent Lake and McHenry counties have been invited to attend the Collaborative. The Illinois Continuity of Care, AARP and The Garlands of Barrington are the sponsors of this event. About the Agency on Aging Northeastern Illinois The Agency on Aging of Northeastern Illinois is a nonprofit organization responsible for developing and coordinating a network of services for older persons throughout an eight county area in northeastern Illinois. The Agency informs and advises public and private agencies and the general public of the needs of older persons living in the area, and acts as an advocate on their behalf. The agency serves DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties.
