AACE 2019 Announces Dr. Felicia Cosman as Featured Speaker

Columbia University Professor Will Give Two Presentations on Osteoporosis
 
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 3, 2019 - PRLog -- The American Association of Endocrinologists (AACE), a professional community of physicians specializing in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, is pleased to announce that Felicia Cosman, MD will be a featured speaker at AACE 2019, its 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.

Dr. Cosman, a clinical scientist, osteoporosis specialist, and Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, will give two presentations at AACE 2019:

-Pre-Congress Presentation: "Challenging Cases of Anabolic and Antiresorptive Transitions for Patients with Postmenopausal Osteoporosis," where she will discuss how to analyze data and compare the effects of treatment sequences in difficult osteoporosis cases

-Plenary Presentation: "Anabolic Therapy in 2019: An Evolving Role in Osteoporosis Treatment," where she will explore clinical trial data for anabolic agents and treatment strategies for high-risk osteoporosis

Dr. Cosman has received long-term funding from the National Institutes of Health, as well as grants from the DOD and the National MS Society. She has published 155 peer-reviewed papers and 50 book chapters, and acted as an NIH grant reviewer, associate editor for several journals, and the co-editor-in-chief of Osteoporosis International. Her research has covered a wide range of topics, including racial differences in skeletal metabolism, vertebral fracture prevalence in the U.S., and interrelationships among MS, vitamin D deficiency, and glucocorticoids.
