AACE 2019 Announces Dr. Roy Taylor as Featured Speaker

Newcastle University Professor Will Present About Type 2 Diabetes Remission Goals
 
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 5, 2019 - PRLog -- The American Association of Endocrinologists (AACE), a professional community of physicians specializing in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, is pleased to announce that Roy Taylor, BSc, MB ChB, MD, FRCP, FRCPE, will be a featured speaker at AACE 2019, its 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.

Dr. Taylor, Professor of Medicine and Metabolism at Newcastle University in the U.K. and Honorary Consultant at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust, will give the Friday morning plenary presentation on the topic, "T2D Remission as a Therapeutic Goal," discussing the goal of helping type 2 diabetes patients reach healthy blood sugar levels without the need for medication.

Dr. Taylor has been conducting research on type 2 diabetes since 1978 and has explored a wide range of methods to better understand and treat the condition. His work focuses on topics including metabolic research in diabetes, the application of magnetic resonance spectroscopy to clinical medicine, and clinical outcome research in diabetic pregnancy.

In 2006, Dr. Taylor founded the Newcastle Magnetic Resonance Centre and began developing techniques to examine how the body manages food during times of health and disease. He recently demonstrated that by decreasing liver and pancreas fat content, type 2 diabetes can be reversed. Dr. Taylor earned his medical degree at the University of Edinburgh.
