9th Annual Rummage Sale in Medina

MEDINA, Ohio - April 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Western Reserve Masonic Community's Rummage Sale is one of Medina County's most anticipated events. Now in its ninth year, the day-long event will offer a variety of affordable quality home furnishings, artwork, kitchenware, electronics, and more.  The doors open to the public on Saturday, April 27 and the event runs from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Cash payment only. Western Reserve Masonic Community is located at 4931 Nettleton Rd., Medina.

The event offers an affordable option for college students or homeowners needing to furnish an apartment, home, or spare bedroom, stock a kitchen with some of the essentials, or create a 'starter set' of handy tools to keep under the sink or in the garage.

Resident Martha Fousek oversees the annual event and gives every item a final once-over and clean/polish if necessary before tagging it with a price – anywhere from $1 to $75 – before the team of resident volunteers place it for sale.

"There are so many good-as-new pieces of furniture, pretty area rugs, holiday décor, tea towels, and knick-knacks," she said. "Every year, people line up at the door earlier and earlier to get a first look at what's for sale."

Items are donated by residents and staff. Proceeds are used for community enhancements or donations to support new programs and services. Past purchases have included outdoor garden benches and flat-screen TVs for Monday night football viewing or afternoon movies; there was also a donation made to help build a new memory care neighborhood.
