Dr. Yulino Castillo Núñez to Receive AACE International Clinician Award

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 26, 2019 - PRLog -- Yulino Castillo Núñez, MD, Director of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Section and Fellowship Coordinator of the Hospital Dr. Salvador B. Gautier in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is the 2019 recipient of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)International Clinician Award. Dr. Castillo will receive his award during the AACE 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

The AACE International Clinician Award is presented to an AACE member who is a clinical endocrinologist practicing outside of the U.S. in recognition of dedicated and compassionate care provided to patients with endocrine diseases, exceptional knowledge and expertise in the field of clinical endocrinology and active advocacy of AACE's mission in both professional and public environments.

During the past two decades, Dr. Castillo has served not only as a hospital director but also as professor of medicine and endocrinology at the UASD and Intec. As a clinician educator, he has trained more than 50 endocrinologists who practice throughout Central America and the Caribbean.

Dr. Castillo serves as editor-in-chief of the Latin America Association of Diabetes (ALAD) journal, Revista ALAD, and has published 52 manuscripts and 18 book chapters on endocrinology and diabetes. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including Distinguished Professor and Top National and International Representative of the Dominican Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition. Dr. Castillo received his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo.

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.
