NASHVILLE, Tenn. - July 2, 2019 - PRLog -- Scott Wilson Architect LLC, scottwilsonarchitect.com, an award-winning boutique architect firm, today announced one of its projects has been named a Regional Award Winner in the Residential Historic Renovation category of the 2019 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence.

Reflecting on the award-winning project, Chief Architect Scott Wilson said, "Each historic renovation presents a bit of a conundrum. For this cottage, we worked together with the homeowner and the Historic Commission for a plan that balances historic integrity with today's lifestyle demands."

The award-winning project, a 1950's cottage renovation, delivered an open floor plan, privacy and yard spaceā€”all requirements for the homeowner's growing family. The challenges included the home's smaller lot size on a busy street, along with the Franklin Historic Commission's requirements that the proportions, style and character of the existing structure are preserved.

"We congratulate Scott and his team. Winning six Chrysalis Awards over the past two decades demonstrates Scott Wilson Architect's ongoing commitment to professionalism and excellence," said Ken Kanline, Director of the Chrysalis Awards.

The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation's best work in fourteen general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Chrysalis Awards are open to every professional remodeler and design professional in the United States. The 2019 Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence are sponsored by Qualified Remodeler and Kitchen & Bath Design News.
