Model 6304 ST Duplex Fiber Switch Allows Mutually Exclusive Offline Switching for 1 of 8 Channels

The Model 6304 is an ST Duplex Fiber Optic Switch with Mutually Exclusive Switching, whereas the user can select one or none of eight channels to pass data or all eight channels to remain Offline and not pass any data.

CRANSTON, R.I. - July 29, 2019 - PRLog -- The QuickSwitch® Model 6304 is an 8-Channel ST Duplex ONLINE/OFFLINE Mutually Exclusive Switch with Remote that allows the user the capability of selecting one or none of eight channels to pass data with RS232 remote access.

The Model 6304 features mutually exclusive switching, meaning that only one channel will be ONLINE and pass data at any one time or all of the channels can be OFFLINE and not pass any data. Each channel has its own dedicated break-before-make MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology and supports gigabit data rates.  The selection of a different channel will automatically first disconnect, then connect to the new selection.

Position control of each of the eight channels can be performed by eight front panel pushbuttons or via RS232 commands from the DB9 Remote port on the rear of the unit.  A keylock on the front panel of the unit adds extra security by inhibiting or permitting pushbuttons. Remote RS232 ASCII commands allow the user to lockout front panel operations, obtain switch status, configure power loss behavior, query firmware version number, query serial number, enable/disable autosend of switch positions.

The Model 6304 is enclosed in a 2U full rack size, all metal black chassis designed to fit in a standard 19" rack.  All ports are ST Duplex, Multimode, 62.5/125 micron and support a wavelength of 1300nm.
