StockX Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Abington Cole + Ellery is conducting a class action investigation regarding a confirmed data breach of shoe trading website StockX.

Reports indicate that approximately 6.8 million records were exfiltrated from StockX in May of 2019. Exfiltrated data includes names, email addresses, purchase histories, and hashed passwords.

On Thursday August 1, StockX sent its users a password reset email. The company's message claimed it "recently completed system updates on the StockX platform" and that passwords were necessary because of the updates. "StockX was recently alerted to suspicious activity potentially involving our platform," a StockX employee told reporters on Thursday without additional explanation.
