Florida Safety Council CEO Brings New Programs To Industry & Construction WorkersA model originated in the Gulf Coast region with Houston, Baton Rouge and the News Orleans Safety Councils, Sutton has established a 20-computer (soon to be 30) Training & Assessment Center on the NEFSC campus. Its mission is to build safe workplaces through proctored online, hands-on and instructor-led training for beginning as well as experienced industry and construction workers. The Center has the capability of delivering general safety training as well as comprehensive customized instruction, in lab or on-site. Between compliance training, certification and documentation of an employee's training skills, they can save a business thousands of dollars. Along with the Center, Sutton has incorporated COSS® (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist) and PowerSafe (utility contactors training) programs that were never offered in Northeast Florida. They are currently conducting 100-150 assessments a month and expect that to increase to 500. For more information on business environmental, health and safety programs, follow NEFSC on Linkedin. NEFSC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, public service organization dedicated to promoting good health, saving lives, preventing accidents and maintaining a safe environment through workplace safety programs, road safety training programs and community service.
