LAS VEGAS - Sept. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- Carrie Simpson leads by example in her business. She says she won't ask anyone to do anything she won't do herself. She also commits to helping her employees change their lives while they work for her.

With that type of leadership, it's not hard to see why Simpson is one of six nominees for the Athena International Women's Leadership Award, which will be presented by the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Southern Nevada next month.

Simpson is the owner of Everywhere Managed, a third-party call center dealing with outsourced sales development for service-based organizations and technology companies. The Las Vegas-based company is the fulfillment side of the sales generator company Managed Sales Pros, which Simpson co-owns with a partner in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. As a whole, the two branches employ 36 people.

"I worked hard to find places to connect with other women after I launched my company in Nevada. I joined the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada STEAM committee, went to female entrepreneurship groups like National Association of Women Business Owners and the Women's Chamber, and joined the Entrepreneurs' Organization. I even made an effort to meet the women in Las Vegas that I followed on social media," Simpson said. "One of those amazing women nominated me for this award. I'm very honored to have been chosen as a finalist!"

Athena International is a nonprofit organization that supports, helps develop and honors female leaders, inspiring women to reach their full potential and striving to create balance in leadership worldwide.

The Athena Awards ceremony, in its 16th year, is the annual fundraiser for the WCCNV Legacy Foundation, which provides scholarships for at-risk female students.

This year's other nominees for the Women's Leadership Award are Ruth Furman, principal and owner of ImageWords Communications; Ginger Allen, Your Marketing Liaison's CEO and business development consultant; Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada surgeon Souzan El-Eid; Nevada Public Radio President/CEO Flo Rogers; and Rita Vaswani, senior vice president and relationship manager with Nevada State Bank.

The award will be presented during a ceremony Sept. 27 at The Stirling Club, 2827 Paradise Road. The event will start with a VIP Champagne reception at 11:15 a.m., and lunch and the awards program will follow at 11:45 a.m. The chamber also will present Athena Awards for young professional leadership, organizational leadership and minority lifetime achievement. The ceremony also will feature the seventh annual Legacy Entertainment, Performing Arts & Media honorees, including awards for entertainer of the year, TV media, public television, performing arts and radio on-air personality.
