Follow on Google News | ![]() Mining Cleantech Challenge Announces Call for ApplicationsMarket-driven showcase connects clean technology to global mining organizations
By: Colorado Cleantech Industries Association For the fourth year, CCIA is hosting the Mining Cleantech Challenge in partnership with mining leaders from across the globe. The MCC provides targeted connections between mining industry operators, OEMs, and clean technology solution providers with the goal of meeting industry's needs while introducing innovative cleantech solutions to the marketplace. Companies selected for participation in the program have the opportunity to present directly to industry representatives and the winning company receives a cash prize. "We have found that an inclusive approach to clean technology innovation is the best path forward for tackling challenging resource issues," said CCIA Executive Director Shelly Curtiss. "The mining industries are interested in incorporating innovative clean energy and clean technology solutions into their operations and we are pleased to act as a connector to businesses across the cleantech industry. " CCIA partners for this program include Newmont, Fresnillo, BHP, Ausenco, Jolimont Global, Resource Capital Funds, Consulate General of Canada, Rocky Mountain Institute, Dorsey & Whitney, Colorado School of Mines, and Clareo. The application process is now open for cleantech companies to showcase their innovative products and technologies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: Advanced materials or chemicals Automation Blockchain Bulk Movement Electric Vehicles (EV's) Methane and NOx gas detection or control Plant or biological solutions Power management Production efficiency Pre-concentration Production management Remote/distributed power Remote sensing Resource characterization and mine planning Tailings/waste handling and disposal Water Interested cleantech companies will enter a competitive vetting process, after which approximately 10-12 companies will be invited to present their technologies to the mining partners.
