Google Maps location : bit.ly/reachsarangi Kaskom is a farm to fabric initiative, which works to revitalize the Indian native cotton value chain. The resilience and water efficiency of native (Desi) cotton, makes farmers to cultivate them organically thus helping in the reduction of total cost of production and opt intercropping of food crops, which in turn provide the farmers a minimum guarantee of sustainable livelihood. By promoting & producing hand spun and handwoven fabrics we ensure a better livelihood for spinners and handloom weavers. Kaskom also focuses on revival of textile-based crafts in South India. Involved in making fabrics which are free from chemicals during cultivation and also during processing, such that it is so natural and safe to your skin. Goods to be exhibited: Karunganni cotton seed, cotton, yarns, yardage, shirts, towels, etc. CALICO: the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS is the textile company and platform from Japan where appreciation for crafts is still lively. It focuses on creating designs and developing goods to be a new tradition for future, by supporting and/or in collaboration with artists, artisans and organizations in Indian subcontinents. "Calico" has been a general terminology to represent the Indian cotton fabric which was exported to all over the world in 18-19c.
