FLX Bike Sets Standard For Employee Safety in Wake of CoronaVirus

SAN DIEGO - March 10, 2020 - PRLog -- As of Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the CDC has reported 647 of reported cases of the Coronavirus-COVID-19 with 25 confirmed deaths in the U.S. alone. With a looming epidemic and the hysteria that has swept the globe over the last few weeks, it is up to leaders within our community to step up and take action.

This week Rob Rast, founder, and CEO of FLX bike in San Diego, California responded to the COVID-19 threat as he sent out a set of prevention guidelines issued by the CDC to ensure the health and safety of all FLX employees during this time.


• Avoid contact with those who are sick and touching your eyes, nose, mouth
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough sneeze with a tissue and dispose of it today.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.

As the virus has now spread to parts of the US, it has become increasingly important to reinforce FLX Bike's health and safety standards. Rast spoke to the significance of this by saying, "We're a family here, so the health and safety of our employees is the most important thing to us. Obviously, we are not all in a position to stop the spread of this virus, but taking steps towards preventing it within our company and community is our responsibility."

In addition to the connection Rast has with his family of employees, he also has a connection to the country that has been the epicenter of this deadly virus. "I lived in China for ten years, where I began my journey as an entrepreneur. Seeing the effect of the virus on a place so dear to my heart has opened my eyes to its devastating effects. It's even harder to watch it spread around the globe. As community leaders, we must set an example and do all we can to eliminate the spread of this horrible virus."
